Caraga to deploy 4,000 cops for ‘Undas 2019’

CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The regional command of Caraga Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) is set to deploy more than 4,000 policemen for the celebration of All Saints Day and All Souls Day next week, November 1 and 2, respectively, in Northeastern Mindanao.

“It’s all system go for PRO 13 as we already started the security preparations to make sure that the celebration of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day will be peaceful and orderly in Caraga region,” declared PRO 13 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Joselito T. Esquivel, Jr.

He said PRO 13 personnel had already met with various stakeholders and urged ground commanders to start coordinating with officials of transport terminals, cemeteries, and local government officials, and other facilities in preparation for the long-held national tradition

He said the more than 4,000 police personnel will be deployed from morning until evening to secure 1,961 key places of convergence such as cemeteries, churches, airports, seaports, and bus terminals all throughout Caraga region, in an objective to preempt crimes.

“This year, we expect the biggest number of people will be on cemeteries closest to the town centers or the key cities in the region especially in Butuan City which is the region’s capital,” Brig. Gen. Esquivel said.

He also bared that PRO 13 will activate Police Assistance Desk, Quick Reaction Team, EOD and K9 Teams, and Motorist Assistance Centers (MAC).

“The PNP Caraga will provide a maximum-security coverage and public safety services during the ‘Undas’ break,” the region’s top police official added.

Force multipliers, including barangay intelligence net, civilian volunteers organization, and barangay tanods are also mobilized to help in the traffic system in different cemeteries while also assisting the deployed police personnel in maintaining peace and order during the celebration, he added.
