4.1 magnitude quake jolts Davao Oriental

BUTUAN CITY – A 4.1 magnitude earthquake jolted Davao Oriental province Thursday night, Sept. 19, 2019, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor was recorded at 7:47 p.m.

The epicenter was plotted 42 kilometers (km) southeast of Governor Generoso town, Davao Oriental province.

The tremor had a depth of 42 km, Phivolcs said.

The earthquake was tectonic in origin and no aftershock or tsunami alert was raised by the agency.

The regional office of the Southern Mindanao Office of Civil Defense and provincial disaster risk reduction and management council reported no damage or injury.
