A man died while another was injured after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a van at Barangay Maysan in Valenzuela City Sunday.
Police identified the deceased victim as Roldan Capillo, 33; and the injured as Rodel Corpin; both residents of the area. The two were riding a Yamaha Sporty motorcycle with Corpin as backrider.
Arrested was Christian Idava, 26, resident of San Ildefonso, Bulacan, driver of an Isuzu ref van.
Investigation showed that at about 1:30 a.m., both vehicles were traversing Maysan Road at Valenzuela City.
Upon reaching Maysan Road corner M. Antonio Street, Idava tried to overtake the two victims but accidentally bumped the left portion of the motorcycle.
Due to the impact, the motorcycle was thrown off the road and the victims sustained injuries.
The two were rushed to the Valenzuela City Medical Center for treatment but Capillo was pronounced dead-on-arrival.
Idava, who is now under police custody, will be facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and physical injury.
