Repair on major roads in Metro Manila to resume over the weekend

Some roads in Metro Manila will undergo repair and rehabilitation over the weekend, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.

Some portions of the Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), Circumferential Road-5 (C-5), and other key roads will be affected by the road works, according to DPWH-National Capital Region Director Ador Canlas said.

Starting 11 p.m. Friday, the affected road portions will be closed to traffic, Canlas added.

Repair works will be undertaken at EDSA southbound direction fronting Sojen and Chevrolet, fifth lane from sidewalk; outer lane from Magallanes-Baclaran Bus Stop going to Magallanes-Alabang Bus Stop; and from Eugenio Lopez Drive to Scout Borromeo, where desilting and construction of manhole will be implemented. EDSA Northbound road work will cover first lane from sidewalk from before New York Street.

Repair activities will also be carried out at the northbound direction of C5 from C.P. Garcia approach to Kalayaan Avenue Extension.

Furthermore, other roads that will undergo road repair and rehabilitation works include southbound direction of Katipunan Avenue from Boni Serrano Tunnel approach, truck lane; eastbound direction of Quirino Highway from Theresa Heights and before Belfast, inner lane; eastbound direction of Elliptical Road from before Commonwealth Avenue, seventh lane from sidewalk, outer lane; and westbound direction of General Luis Street, from Oriental Tin.

Motorists are advised to use possible alternate routes due to traffic slowdown in the affected areas. The affected roads will be reopened by 5 am. of Monday.
