Tricycle drivers yield diapers packed with shabu

More than P1.3 million worth of illegal drugs concealed in a diaper pack were seized from two tricycle drivers in a buy-bust in Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-National Capital Region director Joel Plaza identified the suspects as Elsi Lacsamana, 34, and Deovanne Dacula, 36, both tricycle drivers and known drug peddlers in their area.

According to Plaza, the two men were arrested by operatives of Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET) of PDEA-NCR at Fort Santiago Street in Barangay Sto. Cristo, Quezon City.

Report showed that an undercover agent transacted with the duo which resulted in their arrest.

Seized from the suspects were two sachets containing white substance, suspected to be shabu, concealed in a diaper pack, weighing more or less 200 grams with an estimated street value of P1,360,000.

Arrested suspects will be facing charges for violation of section 5, Article II of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
