Philippine team takes home gold medal in the World Robot Olympiad


At Denmark, there is cause for celebration for Filipinos, as the team of young students won the gold medal in the second World Robot Olympiad -- a Smart Cities project with the category, Smart Goverance.

From Dr. Yanga's College Inc. (DYCI Bocaue, Bulacan), Team Nouvu developed the gold winning entry - Project ALAB (Anti-Adversity Link for Aid and Benefits), sees to organize provision of aid for natural and man-made calamities.

Team Nouvu is represented by Doneth Dela Rama, Naiah Mendoza, and Jaren Perez.

Mylene Abiva, President and CEO of FELTA Multi-Media Inc, and delegation head, Team Nouvus bested 149 teams from 32 countries from students of varying ages from 16 to 19.

However, they aren't the only ones coming home with achievements in science and technology, Team Lexus from Livingstone International School Angeles, Pampanga, represented by students Krischell Anne Faust, Amelia Felize Fernandez, and Paolo Palanisamy, was 4th placer for Project CIUDAD. CIUDAD stands for City of Urban Discoveries and Development, sees to provide energy solutions for cities, including air and water.
