A taxi driver was caught Tuesday by the Airport Police for overpricing an OFW on July 21 at NAIA Terminal 1.

According to Johna Areglo, the passenger and an OFW, she just got home from another country on July 21.

Her two children and her husband welcomed her back.

They decided to take a white taxi home to save money but along the way, the driver kept mentioning that their price runs 30 pesos per meter. By the time they got to Pasay, their charge was 2,200 pesos.

Areglo’s husband fought back and they got off in Pasay to avoid further overpricing.

Before the white taxi could drive off, Areglo’s husband took a picture and posted it on Facebook

The post garnered the attention of the Airport Police that took swift action.

According to Eric Mejia, Airport Police Investigator, they started monitoring for the taxi on July 23.

When the taxi appeared on the airport, they immediately apprehended the driver now known as Raymund Gomba.

Gomba confessed to overpricing and begged Areglo for forgiveness.
