An emotional Amado Soriano, the village chief of Barangay 790 Zone 86, surrendered to authorities Monday afternoon after Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso gave him an ultimatum to appear before him and answer allegations that he hit his constituents.

Soriano defended himself at the Office of Mayor while facing the press and the complainants from their barangay.

“Tangan lang po, maging ang anak ko po ang sinaktan nila,” he said.

He lamented that some of his constituents were actually disrespecting him as the head of the barangay.

“Yang mga taong ‘yan hindi ako ginalang. Ano po ang sabi nila sa akin? Ako daw po ay Kapitan Tae. Marami daw po akong kaso. Wala pong katotohanan ang paninira nila sa akin,” he added.

Soriano said he was falsely accused in a now viral Facebook post of a certain Caithlyn V. Amores who claimed that that he allegedly hit her brothers, Pedro Banlaygas Jr., Pedro Banlaygas III, and Pedro Banlaygas IV, with a pipe and threatened the latter while armed with a gun.

In an ambush interview with Soriano’s daughter who refused to be named, she said one of the complainants pulled her hair first after they figured in a fight due to a dispute over parking space.

But one of the complainants presented to the mayor a proof that Soriano was actually carrying a real gun after he allegedly denied that it was just a toy gun.

Soriano is now facing charges of frustrated murder and grave threat, even as he and his relatives have also filed counter-charges against their accusers.
