A footage taken from a closed-circuit television (CCTV)  camera in the residence of fast food manager Jaim Selim showed the two dogs trying to bark and bite a cobra, which managed to enter the house.

The CCTV footage also showed that the more the cobra got bitten by the dogs, the stronger it got. It could also been spewing out venom during the fight.

The black dachshund, which fought the snake the hardest unfortunately absorbed most of the venomous attacks and died minutes later.

Venom hit the eyes of the other dachshund, but it survived. Selim immediately brought the dog to a veterinarian in this city for treatment.

The dogs’ heroism didn’t go unrewarded. The snake also died on-the-spot.

Selim was grateful to his dogs’ for their “exceptional’ courage” for ensuring the safety of this son.

Selim, in his post on his Facebook account, said his dogs just saved his one-year old son, who was sleeping inside the room at the time the cobra managed to get into their home.

Dachshunds are scent hound dog breeds that hunt badgers and other tunneling animals, like rabbits and foxes.
