Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin Hataman said the city government has allotted some P20 million for the immediate purchase and installation of CCTV and another P9 million for the acquisition of Light-Emitting Diodes (LED) lamps for street lights.

“We will install a number of CCTV in crime-prone areas of this city aimed to reduce the commission of crimes by criminals,” Hataman said.

Adding “the more CCTV we can install the better since it will help law enforcers particularly the police in solving crimes perpetrated by misguided people in this city.”

She said the city government will also install LED Street lights in crime-prone areas in the city to deter some people from committing petty to heinous crimes against law-abiding residents in this city.

She explained that LED lamps or LED light bulb have a lifespan longer as compared to incandescent lamps, and are significantly more efficient than most fluorescent lamps and can emit up to 303 lumens per watt.

When these projects will be completed in due time, I can safely say that most of our residents can now roam around the city safe, she claimed.

At present, most of our people here are afraid to go out late at night for fear of their safety, she said.

Isabela City police director Police Lt Col. William S Gadayan said lauded the peace program of the local government here.

Gadayan said the installation of street lights and CCTV will greatly help the police particularly in solving crimes committed by some criminals in the city.
