Former Senate sergeant-at-arms Jose Balajadia Jr. passes away

Jose Balajadia Jr., former Senate sergeant at arms, passed away on Sunday morning, July 7.

The news was confirmed on a Facebook post by Bong Reyes, his nephew.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III also confirmed that Balajadia passed away at 2:15 a.m.

“He was suffering from a number of ailments lately. Prostate was one big problem,” Sotto said.

Balajadia’s remains are still at Saint Peter Chapel and details of the wake and other services are not yet available.

Balajadia served as sergeant-at-arms from 2002 until his resignation on June 30, 2019.
