Classes in 6 towns, 1 city in Bulacan suspended due to TD ‘Egay’

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Classes in all levels, both public and private in the towns of Bocaue, Marilao, Baliwag, Paombong, Balagtas, Hagonoy and in the City of Meycauayan were suspended on Monday due to tropical depression “Egay.”

As of 6 am on Monday, Provincial Disaster Risk reduction and Management Council executive officer Liz Mungcal said that the water elevation at Angat dam rose to 159.85 meters, 1.21 meter high from 158.64 meters last Sunday.

The water level at Ipo dam was recorded at 100.06 meters, while the water elevation of Bustos dam was 15.00 meters.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado alerted the emergency response units of the Provincial

Disaster Risk reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) due to the light to moderate rains brought by the Southwest monsoon.

The PDRRMC is monitoring the situation and all emergency response teams are on standby, ready to be deployed if the need arises.

Fernando and Alvarado also said that they instructed the PDRRM to continue monitoring the water elevation of the Bulacan dams as well as the major rivers and the water level stations in the different parts of the province.
