The Philippine National Police (PNP) Officers' Ladies Club led by Cherrylyn Albayalde together with Southern Police District (SPD) District Director Police Brig. Gen. The event which was held at SPD San Lorenzo Ruiz Chapel on Friday is aligned with PNP’s program for organizational discipline and internal cleansing to gain the trust and respect of the people.

This activity is one of the many initiated projects, plans and programs Cruz along with the OLC for the benefit of the PNP Members of SPD and their families apart from the construction, renovation, repair and refurbishment of PNP buildings/infirmaries, churches and improvement of its facilities through the assistance and help of the PNPOLC and other sponsors.

Cruz said that this was done to continuously gain the trust and confidence of the people whom the PNP have vowed to serve and protect and to show to our constituents that the PNP live also in the core values of Maka-Diyos (God Fearing Policeman) and has high regard to the sanctity of marriage and as a role model not only to the people but to themselves and their families.

"The renewal of vows of married couples of PNP as a way to reaffirm their commitment to each other and demonstrate that the vows they took are still considered sacred. Also, to remind the married couple among the PNP ranks, that seeking guidance and blessing of the Almighty and putting Him at the center of our lives is necessary as we perform our mandated tasks." He added.

The baptism and renewal of marriage vows is the first time activity that SPD will be conducting which was timed with PBGen Cruz' birthday who instead of celebrating with his family and friends, preferred to come up with the activity.

Director Cruz believes that the OLC's contribution to the unit’s project are unparalleled, and an honor indeed. He hopes that he will work with more projects with the OLC, for the betterment not only of SPD but the PNP Organization as well
