Eastern Police District director Brigadier General Christopher Tambungan has warned his men to “watch out” following the relief last week of a police community precinct (PCP) commander in Pasig City over his messy precinct.

“To all police community precinct commanders and station commanders, watch out for I will conduct inspections myself,” Tambungan said in an interview with Manila Bulletin.

“My standards are almost the same as with the regional director (Eleazar). The PCPs should not only look clean but should also smell clean,” Tambungan said in Filipino.

National Capital Region Police Office chief Major General Guillermo Eleazar conducted an inspection of PCPs on Independence Day where he found cigarette butts, empty water bottles, candy wrappers and other garbage within the premises of Pasig City Police Community Precinct 1 headed by Captain Eleno Ilustrisimo.

According to Tambungan, Eleazar ordered him to relieve Ilustrisimo right after the police regional director conducted the surprise inspection.

The EPD chief said that Ilustrisimo is currently assigned at the EPD Headquarters in Pasig City, adding that he will file appropriate charges against the precinct commander over the failure of supervision.

As for Illustrisimo’s replacement, Tambungan said he is still searching for someone to replace him.

“I will put somebody there who is reliable (and) a responsible police officer,” he said.
