MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan — Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado and Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando together with Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) President and CEO Frederick Go and Senator Cynthia Villar led the groundbreaking of the Bulacan Cyber Park and Business District Project located in this city last Wednesday.
The 12-hectare business district will have shopping malls, hotels, a convention center and business process outsourcing (BPO) building.
Villar congratulated the provincial government and RLC for the project.
“Ninety five percent of all the businesses in the Philippines are micro and small enterprises providing 65 percent of employment in the Philippines at ito ang susi para makaahon sa kahirapan ang mga Pilipino. Kaya we need to encourage more people to venture into businesses,” she said.
Alvarado expressed his happiness over the realization of his dreams for the province.
“Ito na ang simula ng kalayaan mula sa kahirapan. Ang itong proyektong ito ay magiging kapaki-pakinabang hindi lamang sa marami ng napakinabangan kundi lalo na sa ating mga kababayang mahihirap,” the governor said.
Go said he was glad to be a partner of the province in building a world-class and mixed-use development.
“Itong mga BPO buildings ay mag-attract ng mga American, international business process outsourcing companies such as call centers, transcription companies and third party BPO’s that will provide thousands of jobs to the people of Bulacan, if I may say, these are not ordinary jobs because the jobs that the BPO industry provides are high paying jobs. These are the kind of job that help our people create more skills,” Go said.
Implemented under the Bulacan Public Private Partnership Code, the project is one of the initiatives under the Bulacan Program for Rapid Industrialization and Development (PRIDE).
