Three drug suspects nabbed in buy-bust op in Malabon

Three alleged drug personalities, including a minor, were arrested in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Tugatog, Malabon City on Tuesday midnight.

Police identified the suspects as Patrick Sangoyo, 21, jobless, resident of Barangay Tonsuya, Malabon City; Gilmer Yumang, 18, jobless, resident of Barangay 8, Caloocan City; and a 16-year-old boy identified only as “Kevin.”

Elements of the Malabon City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency launched the sting operation at about 12:10 a.m.

Investigation showed that the suspects were collared after a poseur buyer bought a sachet of suspected shabu worth P300 from them.

Nine sachets of suspected shabu and the P300 marked money were recovered from the suspects.

The seized pieces of evidence were brought to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory Office at Camp Crame in Quezon City for laboratory examination.

Sangoyo and Yumang are now under police custody and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Suspected motorcycle thief arrested

A suspected motorcycle thief was arrested in Pasig City Monday for stealing a motorcycle in Taytay town, Rizal province on Sunday.

Pasig City Police said Arnold Juanico, 21, was nabbed around 5:30 p.m. at a basketball court in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.

Prior to his arrest, 35-year-old Ma. Theresa Nacionaliz discovered on Sunday that the pink motorcycle that she had parked 15 minutes earlier was missing, probers said.

The next day, her brother Michael Jessie Nabelgas, 28, spotted the missing motorcycle in Pasig City, which was being driven by Juanico.

Nabelgas, a police report showed, confronted Juanico but he quickly drove away. Unfortunately, his motorcycle crashed and Juanico was apprehended.

Responding policemen brought the suspect to the station for investigation.

Police said Nacionaliz arrived and positively identified the motorcycle as hers, but it was already painted gray.

Charges for violating Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Law were filed against the suspect, police said. (Jhon Aldrin Casinas)

Ammunition and illegal drugs seized in Navotas drug sting

Several pieces of ammunition and sachets of suspected shabu were seized in a sting operation at Barangay Tangos, Navotas City on Monday evening.

Arrested were Jeffrey Antonio, 24, fisherman; and Roseber Paras, 19, jobless; both residents of the area.

Elements of the Northern Police District Special Operations Unit conducted the buy-bust at about 11:40 p.m.

According to a report, a poseur buyer bought ten pieces of 9mm caliber live ammunition from the suspects. The suspects also reportedly offered sachets of illegal drugs to the operative.

Retrieved from the suspects were 12 sachets of suspected shabu and 10 caliber 9mm live ammunition.

The seized pieces of evidence were brought to the Northern Police District for proper disposition.

The suspects are now under police custody and will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Minka Klaudia Tiangco)
