High-value drug personality killed in Ormoc

TACLOBAN CITY - A high-value target in the drug trafficking was killed after he resisted arrest in Ormoc City.

Joel Padilla, 43, and a resident of Barangay Tambulilid, Ormoc, had a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Maria Corazon Vergara-Naraja of the Regional Trial Court Branch 47 in Ormoc, with no bail recommended.

Police said Padilla drew a gun and fired at the team implementing the warrant. The team members fire back, hitting him in the body.

Padilla was declared dead at the Ormoc District Hospital.

A Colt caliber .45 pistol with 5 live rounds were recovered from him, police said.

Padilla’s wife, Adelfa, and her sister, Ray-ann Rose Flores, were arrested for trying to stop the police team from arresting him.
