After garnering 105, 324 votes, Faustino “Inno” Dy V of President Duterte’s PDP-Laban will represent the newly-created sixth legislative district of Isabela.

Based on the Commission on Elections’ partial, unofficial results posted by ABS-CBN’s Halalan 2019, Dy, the chairman of Barangay San Fabian in Echague, won by a margin of 95, 464 votes against former San Isidro Mayor Abraham Lim of Lakas who only received 9, 860 votes.

Dy, the national president of the Liga ng mga Barangay, has been seeking government’s full support for the country’s farmers.

During the 21st National Congress, the son of outgoing Governor Faustino “Bojie" Dy III, laments the “underperforming” state of the country’s agriculture sector.

“Sa iba’t ibang parte ng Pilipinas, underperforming po talaga ang agriculture sector at minsan negative growth po ang ating agriculture sector. This is very worrisome and very alarming, especially for a country like the Philippines. Dapat ito po talaga nga kalakasan natin itong agriculture sector. Subalit kulang ang supporta para i-develop pa ang agriculture sector,” he said in a speech during the event, which was posted on YouTube.

The sixth legislative district of Isabela is one of two districts newly created by a law signed by President Duterte on September 27, 2018.

Republic Act No 11080 creates the fifth and sixth districts of Isabela.

The fifth legislative district groups the municipalities of Aurora, Burgos, Luna, Mallig, Quezon, Quirino, Roxas, and San Manuel.

While, Dy’s sixth legislative district comprises the city of Cauayan and the municipalities of Echague, San Guillermo and San Isidro.

Former acting Makati City Mayor Kid Peña, who defeated former Vice President Jejomar Binay in the Makati’s first district congressional derby, and presidential son Paolo Duterte, who bagged the first legislative district seat of Davao City, also served as barangays captain before being elected as vice mayors. #MatalinongBoto2019
