9 nabbed for liquor ban in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY - Nine persons were arrested for liquor ban in Negros Occidental from May 12 to 13.

Police Maj. Edison Garcia, public information officer of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO), said five of which were arrested in Calatrava town and four were collared in Cadiz City.

In Calatrava town, arrested individuals were Ricky Aquitar, 45; Herlan Bantemano, 56; and Diosdado Barcelo, 35, all residents of Barangay Marcelo; Jose Joey Canencia, 58, of Barangay Suba; and Dennis Laguda, 66, of Barangay Bantayanon.

In Cadiz City, Lester Diola, 39; Florentino Ypirnas, 21; Elizer Pama, 29; and Chando Sinogbuhan, 36 were also arrested for the said offense.

Garcia said charges for the violation of the Omnibus Election Code will be filed against them.

Meanwhile, no liquor ban violators were arrested in Bacolod City.
