Motorcycle-riding gunmen fired shots at the house of a barangay captain who is running for councilor in Ozamiz, Misamis Occidental, according to a television report.
Barangay captain Juanito "Junjun" Saquin and his family, who were having lunch, were unharmed. The attack, however, shattered windows and left empty bullet shells on the street.
A witness identified as Roden Fuentez said the suspects were wearing black and riding a motorcycle. “Dalawa sila nakasuot ng itim ang isa nakahelmet, ang isa nakamask,” he said.
Saquin said he thinks that incident was politically-motivated. "Sa aking personal na analysis maaring pulitika ang dahilan sa ganitong pangyayari," he said.
According to the report, the identities of the suspects have yet to be identified.
