CBA: Valenzuela blasts San Mateo

Valenzuela used a solid second quarter defense on San Mateo en route to an 81-62 rout in the Community Basketball Association Pilipinas Founders Cup at the Thoa Wild Center Gymnasium in Valenzuela on Saturday.

In a rare early tip-off for the home-and-away game in the scheduled twinbill, the Express limited the Blazers to just 11 points in the second quarter to set up the blowout win.

Jerome Ortega led Valenzuela with 18 points, two rebounds, six assists, and four steals for Valenzuela.

Marlon Adolfo put up 19 points on 7-for-12 shooting, nine rebounds, and three assists for San Mateo.
