De La Salle and University of Santo Tomas battle for the second twice-to-beat semifinal incentive today in UAAP women’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan City.
Match is at 3:30 p.m. with the winner securing a crucial edge in the Final Four.
Both teams finished the double-round robin eliminations tied at second with 10-4 cards following La Salle’s shocking loss to semis fourth seed Far Eastern, 25-22, 13-25, 15-25, 27-25, 15-8, and UST’s victory over National University, 27-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-16.
Whatever the outcome, the Lady Spikers and the Tigresses will still see each other in the next phase via the crossover semis format of No. 1 vs No. 4 and No. 2 vs No. 3. The playoff winner, however, needs just one win to reach the finals.
The other semifinal pairing has already been set between top seed Ateneo and FEU with the Lady Eagles enjoying a twice-to-beat privilege.
