La Salle clinched at least a playoff for the twice-to-beat semifinal incentive on Wednesday with a 25-17, 25-16, 25-19 sweep of University of the East in the UAAP women’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan City.

The Lady Spikers bucked a slow start before pulling away from a 16-13 first-set lead and dictate the tempo throughout the 76-minute match.

It was the fifth straight victory for La Salle as it hiked its win-loss tally to 10-3 for second with one match left in the double-round eliminations.

Tin Ogunsanya and rookie Jolina Dela Cruz led the Taft-based squad with 10 points each including combined 18 kills while Michelle Cobb finished with 20 excellent sets.

Despite advancing to the Final Four last week, La Salle coach Ramil De Jesus still reminded his stalwarts to keep their energy going to carry it to the next phase.

UE absorbed its 10th loss in 13 outings with Judith Abil scoring 16 points, all from the attack line.

NU posted eight blocks including four from Saura and Malabunga.

UP skidded to its 12th defeat against a lone win with only one match left in its campaign.
