Suarez, Ice Hockey Team at TOPS


Rio Olympics veteran and three-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Charly Suarez and the Philippine women’s hockey team which bagged the gold medal in the 2019 IIHF Women’s Hockey Challenge Cup will be the special guests in the 19th "Usapang Sports" by the Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) on Thursday, April 25 at the National Press Club in Intramuros.

Suarez, who gave up his dream to win a gold medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games when he turned pro last year, will talk about his coming title fight in Davao on May 10.

Joining him are Jilson Basang, founder/owner of Mabuhay Promotions, and Delfin Boholst, Suarez's coach and sparring partner.

Philippine women’s hockey team coach Carl Montano, team captain Georgie Regencia, Eadrea Ham and Kathleen Tan will share their gold medal-winning performance during the 10 a.m. session sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), National Press Club (NPC), PAGCOR and HG Guyabano Tea Leaf Drink.

The Philippine women's hockey team made history by beating the United Arab Emirates, 2-1, in the final to capture the gold in the IIHF Women’s Hockey Challenge Cup at the Zayed Sports City Ice Rink in Abu Dhabi last April 14-19.

The Filipinas also won over Kuwait, 10-0, and India, 5-0, to arrange a gold medal match against UAE.

TOPS president Ed Andaya of People's Tonight is inviting friends from the sports community to attend the forum.
