The Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) building in Paco, Manila is facing evaluation and structural integrity inspection after it tilted on its side and leaned on another building at the height of the 6.1-magnitude earthquake that hit Metro Manila and Luzon late Monday afternoon.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar said they have asked school officials not to utilize the building anymore.
“The safety officer of Emilio Aguinaldo College has been informed not to utilize the building anymore and to ask occupants to vacate the building,” Villar said.
Classes in the said university are also suspended “to give way to the inspection of the structural integrity of the building.”
On Friday night, DPWH has also asked occupants to vacate the college building after it sustained damage due to the earthquake.
As of press time, Manila City Engineering Office and DPWH officials are still conducting an inspection in the area.
“If we find out na it is considered a dangerous building, the worst is i-condemn siya after evaluation,” Engr. Rogelio Legaspi, head of the Manila City Engineering Office said.
San Marcelino Street corner United Avenue was temporarily closed to ensure the safety of the public.
The EAC building was built in 1967.
