Accredited establishments in Boracay reach 339

The Department of Tourism (DOT) said that the number of accredited accommodation establishments in Boracay has already reached to 339.

In its latest advisory, DOT reported that "a total of 339 establishments accounting to 12,083 rooms are now accredited" to operate in Boracay, as of April 8.”

Earlier, the tourism department said that around 58,000 tourists were expected to visit Boracay for the observance of Holy Week.

Previously, the Boracay Interagency Task Force urged the public to avoid transactions with establishments that have not yet secured the necessary clearances and permits from different government agencies.

"We would like to remind the public that only the Boracay Island accommodation establishments that are compliant with the requirements of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT) are allowed to accept booking reservations and operate," it said in a previous advisory.
