Women's billiards, wheelchair basketball at TOPS


The Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) welcomes more women in sports as it holds its 18th "Usapang Sports" today at the National Press Club in Intramuros, Manila.

The Philippine women’s billiards team of Rubilen Amit, Chezka Centeno, Iris Rañola and Floriza Andal and women's wheelchair basketball team members Patricia Camille Castro, Cecille Naceno, Jean Delos Reyes and Kymberlee Dangayo will share center stage during the two-part public service program supported by the Philippine Sports Commission and National Press Club and shown on Facebook live via Glitter Livestream.

Accompanying the four female billiards players seeing action in the coming 30th Southeast Asan Games is national team coach Rodolfo "Boy Samson" Luat.

Amit and her teammates will talk about the country’s chances in the SEA Games, which the country is hosting for the fourth time on Nov. 30-Dec.11.

Joining them in the 10 a.m. weekly session also sponsored by PAGCOR and HG Guyabano Tea Leaf Drink are coach Vernon Perea, assistant coach Harry Solanoy and manager Nina Castro of the Pilipinas Lady Warriors, who participated in the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Women' s Camp in Suphanburi, Thailand.

Perea and Castro will share the team’s experience in the IWBF event in Thailand, as well as their plans for women’s wheelchair basketball in the country.
