Ray Parks Jr. has agreed to a one-year contract worth P2 million with Blackwater, paving the way for his much-awaited PBA debut in next month's Commissioner's Cup.

Parks and agent Charlie Dy met with Blackwater team governor Silliman Sy on Tuesday where they were able to reach a deal.

"I’m happy Ray is finally playing in the PBA," Dy said, adding Parks will report for duty after Holy Week to give himself time to rest following the recent ASEAN Basketball League stint with Alab.

"I believe a lot of PBA fans are waiting for his debut game as the photo I posted on social media has so many likes in just an hour," added Dy.

Dy posted a photo on social media of Parks' signing the contract together with Sy.

Parks was selected second overall in the draft last December but had to skip the Philippine Cup due to finish his Alab campaign..

But rumors also swirled of Parks being shipped to Meralco in a three-way trade involving TNT KaTropa while PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial allowed the former National University standout to finish his ABL contract.

Blackwater will head into the Commissioner's Cup under Aries Dimaunahan, who was tapped on an interim basis as replacement to Bong Ramos.

The Elite went 2-9 in the Philippine Cup eliminations.
