Now on its 15th year, the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) is currently showcasing the latest offerings in the automotive industry. Brands such as Chevrolet, Ford, Foton, GAC, GAZ, Hyundai, JAC, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, MG, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, and Suzuki will be there to showcase their newest products, together with truck and bus brands Impenetra Armor, Isuzu, JMC, Pioneer Trucks, Tata, and Ural. Besides the new car launches, here are some of the more notable automotive models that have recently launched that you’ll be able to check out in person at the World Trade Center in Pasay City from April 4 to 7.
MIAS 2019 offers a great chance for everyone to see Kia Philippines’ complete model range since being relaunched by AC Automotive under the Ayala Corporation. The Kia Soluto sub-compact sedan was the first new model to be launched by the group, and true to Kia’s “All kinds of Wow” tag line, chances are high that we’ll see more surprises from them in the show.
Suzuki has been on a tear lately, with one new model after another. Besides the Suzuki Dzire and Swift, MIAS 2019 will provide visitors with the opportunity to see the new Suzuki Ertiga compact carrier and just-released Suzuki Jimny up close.
Hyundai’s booth is the biggest one in the show, and for good reason. You’ll get to see their complete extensive lineup, together with some nice surprises as well. Expect to see Hyundai’s newest releases, like the Reina, Kona, and Ioniq.
MG has been steadily gaining some interest under its new distributor, The Covenant Car Company (TCCCI). MG’s offerings will be on full display, including the RX5 compact SUV, ZX crossover, and MG 6 fastback sedan. Powered by a 1.5-liter turbo engine that produces 164 hp and 250 Nm of torque for under PhP 1.1m, the MG 6 is definitely worthy of your attention.
Besides car displays and launches, MIAS 2019 also offers numerous pocket events to enjoy with friends and family. MIAS will also hold the Classic and Custom Car Competition once again, with over 100 entries vying for the top title. At the North Wing side of the venue, you’ll find the Monster Truck Display, while on the opposite end of the spectrum, this year’s Miniature Die-Cast Car Collection Display is sure to interest collectors.
Precision stunt driver and Guinness World Record Holder, Russ Swift, also returns this year to delight the audience with his exciting stunt performances together with Subaru.
Manila International Auto Show 2019 organizer, Worldbex Services International, hopes to top last year’s roster of 150 companies, totaling to 305 car displays, 34 truck displays, and 12 motorcycle displays.
As always, for those who are looking to make new automotive purchases, or simply want to experience the latest car models, MIAS will be conducting test drives outside the venue’s main hall.
The 15th Manila International Auto Show happens from Thursday, April 4 to Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM at the World Trade Center Manila, Pasay City. Tickets are P100. To learn more about the MIAS, you can visit manilaautoshow.com.
