More than 800 Muslims in Muntinlupa City received relief goods as celebration for Al Multaga and preparation for Ramadan on Monday.

The relief goods will serve as the food for the Muslims in the city before they start fasting during the Ramadan.

Johnny Guiling, director of Muntinlupa City Muslim Affairs Office, said the event was sponsored by an Australian non-profit organization, In Need of Help (INOH), and Darul Ferdauz Educational Center Inc. headed by Khaldon John Basher.

Guiling said the Al Multaga celebration was meant to gather his fellow Muslims in the city and teach them the importance of Ramadan as it will be observed in just a month's time.

He said the INOH selected Muntinlupa City to be a beneficiary as they have known the city as helpful especially during the time of the Marawi siege.

Australian Muslims from INOH flew to the Philippines to give the grocery packs to the beneficiaries themselves.

Each pack has rice, noodles, canned goods, and boxes of milk.

"Tuwang-tuwa ang ating mga Muslim brothers and sisters. Nagustuhan din ng ating Australian brothers ang ating lecture tungkol sa Ramadan," said Guiling.

The program was held at Liwasan Park, Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
