The PDEA agents claimed they had no other choice but to shoot suspect Edwin Cabezudo, alias Pacao after they noticed that he was about to pull out a hand grenade he had hidden in the groin area of his short pants.

Cebezudo, who was earlier arrested in Muntinlupa City, was rushed to the Quirino Medical Memorial Center, but the attending physicians declared him dead-on-arrival.

During the high impact operation, Christian Frivaldo, PDEA Acting Region 5 Director, said the arresting team also seized confiscated 500 grams of shabu placed in a transparent self-sealing plastic bag with a market value of P3.4 million, boodles of money and marked money.

The buy-bust operation was conducted at around 8:30 pm on March 24.
