The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) presented the CCTV footage before Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Peter during a hearing held at the DOJ yesterday (March 25).

Following the presentation of the CCTV footage, Ong granted the request of respondents--SPO2 Rodante Sicat Lalimarmo, PO3 Arthur Yasonio Lucy, and PO1 Jose Lunar--to file their manifestations concerning the evidence against them this April 1.

In Monday’s hearing, the complainants – the NBI and the Velasco family – also presented before Ong two more witnesses against the respondents.

Dr. Victoria Velasco, the daughter of the victim, said a sworn statement from another witness was also submitted to Ong.

In the complaint, the three police suspects have been accused of having committed murder over the May 11, 2018 ambush of the prosecutor in front of the Persian Kithcen in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City.

A white Toyota Innova with plate number XNR 256 blocked the path of Velasco’s vehicle and four armed men got out and fired at the victim.

NBI investigators said they were able to identify the suspects with the help of witnesses as well as CCTV footage at the crime scene, the Quezon City Hall compound and at the Quezon City Memorial Circle which was used by the suspects as a staging area.
