OFW’s remains brought home to Pangasinan

ASINGAN, Pangasinan – Almost one month after she passed away in Taina, Taiwan , the remains of Filipino factory worker Maribel Soberano of Sobol, Asingan, arrived home Tuesday night.

Soberano’s body arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on a China Airlines flight earlier Tuesday.
Soberano committed suicide last Feb. 12, four days before she was to fly home.

Ranjit R. Shahani, a board member of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) and Gov Amado Espino III facilitated the processing in bringing back the Soberano’s body.

"Tinulungan na ng MECO pamilya para maiuwi ang bangkay ng OFW na napabalitang nagpakamatay, Jon jon Soliven, personal secretary of Shahani told Manila Bulletin.

Soberano worked in a factory in Taiwan for almost five months.
