Tropical depression “Chedeng” has made landfall over Malita, Davao Occidental and has weakened into a low pressure area on Tuesday morning.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has lifted all tropical cyclone warnings as Chedeng made landfall around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Around 7 a.m., the LPA was already in the vicinity of Malungon, Sarangani.

PAGASA advised that scattered, to at times, widespread moderate to heavy rains may still be experienced over Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Sur, Compostela Valley, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur, South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and portions of Northern Mindanao, Bangsamoro, and Zamboanga Peninsula.

The concerned disaster risk reduction and management offices and residents of these areas, especially those living in areas identified to be at high risk of flooding or landslide, should undertake appropriate actions and continue monitoring PAGASA’s updates.

Those with small sea crafts were advised not to set sail into the eastern seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao due to big waves generated by the weather disturbance.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned the public of sudden heavy rains due to severe thunderstorms that may cause flash floods over low-lying areas.
