DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan---- At least seven construction workers were investigated after the dead bodies of an American citizen and her maid were found inside a house that was being built here.
Police identified the American as Rosalina Esteves, 68, and her househelp as Lorrainne Camid, 39, a resident of Mangaldan, Pangasinan.
Police said that last Friday morning, Jonathan Zamudio, a 39-year-old construction worker found the body of Camid sprawled on the floor of the house under construction in Barangy Lasip Grande, and that of Esteves in her bed with a bed sheet over her face.
Esteves’ personal belongings were scattered about the bedroom.
The two women could have been dead for five hours ago before their bodies were found, police said.
Police did not name the seven construction workers who were being questioned.
One investigator said the victims could have died after being struck with a blunt instrument.
Police were also checking if Camid was raped, because she was found half-naked.
