Suzuki Philippines finally revealed the price and variants for the all-new Jimny All-Grip Pro at the BGC Amphitheater in Bonifacio Global City, The Fort, Taguig City last Friday, March 8.
Off-road capability
Almost a year after its sneak peek, Suzuki Philippines finally revealed the specifications of units we’ll be getting here in the Philippines. This fourth generation Jimny retains its ladder frame underpinnings. It has long-stroke three-link suspension with front and rear rigid full wheel axles. It boasts of a 37-degree approach angle, 49-degree departure angle, and a 28-degree break over angle.
Equipped with part-time high and low range 4WD, the Jimny is still able to easily switch between 2WD and 4WD. It comes with hill hold control, hill descent control and brake limited slip-differential (LSD) traction control for better speed and control in rough conditions.
Form and function
The all-new Jimny has a compact, square body which allows for good all-around visibility and maneuverability, on and off road. Its size is its advantage over larger off road vehicles. Being lightweight, it makes short work of mud, sand and steep slippery slopes where heavier vehicles tend to get stuck.
Its look speaks of its capabilities; rolling on dark metallic gray 15-inch wheels, the acute approach and departure angles, big black bumpers, wheel flarings and round retro style headlamps. Black is the dominant theme for the interior with switches and dials in metallic colors for easy identification. The instrument panel and surrounding areas have a scratch and stain-resistant grained finish while the steering wheel is leather wrapped. The entertainment system has a nine-inch touchscreen with GPS and an off-road audio guide. This latest Jimny has 53 liters more luggage space than the last generation.
Performance and safety
The all-new Jimny is powered by the K15B 1.5-liter, four-cylinder that puts out more power and torque than the previous Jimny which was equipped with a 1.3L engine. Quieter, improved NVH, it has a lightweight resin belt cover and fuel tank. It has an optimized intake system with long nozzle injectors to enhance fuel efficiency.
The Jimny All-Grip Pro also features Suzuki’s Total Effective Control Technology (TECT), which disperses collision energy across the vehicle frame to mitigate damage to the vehicle and passengers.
To reduce driver stress and fatigue, the front seat cushion frames are 70-mm wider and 50-mm taller for better shock absorption. Noise inside the cabin is reduced by strategic placement of sound-deadening material throughout the body. And for longer dependable life, zinc-coated steel is applied more extensively with more effective floor undercoating and coatings at panel edges to protect it from corrosion caused by water crossings.

How much is it?
The all-new Jimny is now officially available for order from Suzuki’s dealers, with four variants to be locally available: the GL MT at P975K; GL AT at P1.035M; GLX AT monotone at P1.085M; and GLX AT two tone at P1.095M. It’s available in the following colors: Solid Kinetic Yellow, Metallic Brisk Blue, Metallic Chiffon Ivory, Pearl Bluish Black, Solid Medium Gray, Metallic Silky Silver, Superior White and Solid Jungle Green.
