Seventh most wanted of Ermita Police Station arrested

The seventh most wanted criminal of Ermita Police Station was arrested by police on Monday.

Police nabbed Christian Tagorita, 26, hardware helper, Merced Street, Barangay 681 Zone 74, Paco, Manila at around 10:00 p.m. on March 11.

Prior to his arrest, operatives received a tip from an informant about Tagorita's whereabouts.

Tagorita is charged with frustrated murder according to the arrest warrant issued by Judge Liwliwa Hidalgo-Bucu of Manila Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 34 with recommended bail of P200,000.

He is currently detained at Ermita's Police Station custodial facility pending the return of warrant of arrest and commitment order. (Erma Edera)

Fire hit Sta. Ana Manila

An estimated P200,000 worth of properties were damaged after a fire hit a residential area along Road 8, Fabie Estate in Sta. Ana, Manila on Tuesday afternoon.

Two houses occupied by eight families were consumed by the flames that easily reached up to second alarm shortly after the incident was verified at 2:11 p.m.

Fire out was then declared at 3:22 p.m.

On-case investigator Senior Fire Officer (SFO) 1Joshua Galura of the Manila Fire District said firefighters did not experience difficulty in extinguishing the fire as their water supply was sufficient despite the district’s coverage under Manila Water.

No one died but two neighbors who helped in putting out the blaze namely Tristan Pampillo, 33, and Gomer Morales, 67 sustained first-degree burn on the arms and abrasion on the abdomen, respectively.

The cause of the incident is still under probe. (Ria Fernandez)

Man died while having sex with mistress in Manila

A 58-year-old married man died of a heart attack while having sex with his mistress inside their hotel room in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

The fatality was a UV express driver and operator living in Bacoor City, Cavite, police said.

Investigation revealed that he and his lover were at the middle of intercourse when he suddenly suffered chest pain and difficulty in breathing at around 2 p.m. on Mar. 10.

The woman immediately sought help from the hotel staff to bring the victim to a nearby hospital.

However, he was declared dead-on-arrival by the attending physician.

During cursory examination of the body, no signs of physical injuries were seen.

It was learned that the two were former neighbors and in an extramarital affair for seven years. (Ria Fernandez)

Minor rider killed in road mishap

A 14-year-old driving a motorcycle was killed while his back rider was injured after accidentally hitting an electrical post in Muntinlupa City on Tuesday.

The fatality was identified as Patrick Obispo, 14, a resident of Saint Mary Subdivision, Alamanza Uno, Las Piñas City. The back rider was identified as Oscar Mogote, 18, a resident of Sitio Masagana, Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Investigation showed that the incident occurred at around 3:30 in the morning along the westbound lane of the Alabang-Zapote Road in front of an auto shop, Filinvest, Barangay Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

According to the report, Obispo was driving a Yamaha motorcycle with sidecar and was traversing the westbound lane of Alabang-Zapote Road together with Mogote.

Police said that the victim lost control of the tricycle causing it to ramp over the center island before hitting an electrical post. Both sustained injuries and was brought to the Ospital ng Muntinlupa for medication.

However, at around 4:41 in the morning, Obispo was declared dead. (Dhel Nazario)

Drug suspect killed in Caloocan

An alleged drug personality was killed in a police shootout at 3rd avenue, Barangay 25, Caloocan City on Wednesday.

Police identified the suspect as Chrisanto Patimo, alias "Toteng," 42, resident at Raja Solaiman Street, Barangay 37, Caloocan City.

Joint elements of the Caloocan City Police Station Special Operations Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit, and Intelligence Branch conducted the surveillance operation at about 1 a.m.

Investigators said the suspect reportedly sensed that he was surrounded by operatives so he fired his gun.

The police retaliated and hit him on different parts of his body, killing him instantly.

Nineteen sachets of suspected shabu, a sachet of suspected marijuana, a 9mm-caliber pistol, a magazine loaded with five live ammunition, nine fired cartridge cases, a fired bullet, drug paraphernalia, photographs of three people printed on two pieces of paper, and a black sling bag were retrieved from the suspect and the crime scene. (Minka Klaudia Tiangco)

President of PWD association arrested for molesting four boys

A president of an association of Persons with disabilities (PWDs) in a barangay in Parañaque City was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly molesting four boys inside his house in the city.

The suspect was identified as Nelson Balmores, 31, a resident of GK El Dorado Dulo, Barangay Don Bosco, Parañaque City. According to police, the incident occurred on Monday at the suspect's house.

The victims who are grade 8 and 9 students were aged 15, 14, 17, and 18. The parents only discovered the incident on Tuesday after the four minors told them about it.

Investigation showed, according to the statements of the four victims, the suspect ordered them to buy illegal drugs and told them to use what they bought.

Police said that after which he told the victims to enter his room one by one where he allegedly took advantage of them one at a time.

The victims told their parents about what happened and reported the incident to the barangay and the Police Community Precinct 6. A follow-up operation then led to the arrest of the suspect.  (Dhel Nazario)
