Rehabilitation of a damaged section on Daang Maharlika in Alicia, Isabela has been completed, the Department of Public Works and Highways said.

The newly-rehabilitated section of Daang Maharlika, a national road network, is located in Barangay Apanay, Alicia, Isabela in front of the Apanay Elementary School.
According to District Engineer Editha Babaran, the asphalt pavement of the road section was "severely shoved," prompting the department to allocate P4,368,631.89 to finance the rehabilitation of the road section.
“Fixing the damaged road section is necessary especially the section is located along a school,” Babaran said.
“This will ensure more convenient travel experience to the general public, more specifically, to the residents and children crossing the road,” she added.
Meanwhile, multi-million peso bridge and drainage projects in the same province are nearing completion, the department reported.
The drainage project along Daang Maharlika in Tumauini, Isabela and the rehabilitation of the Cumabao-Dy Abra Bridge are expected to be completed by first quarter of the year.
The construction of drainage along Daang Maharlika is now 88.20 percent accomplished. The P23-million project covers a 3,026.20-linear meters drainage structure, primarily lined canal.
Cumabao-Dy Abra Bridge, on the other hand, is being reconstructed with funding of P44.2 million under the FY 2018 National Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Fund.
The bridge, according to District Engineer Evelyn Costales, is 75.64 linear meters long and five meters wide.
“The repair of Cumabao-Dy Abra Bridge will greatly improve the mobility of vehicles and the transportation of goods and services to the Municipality of Tumauini,” Costales said.
