Nestor Patawaran, the truck driver told investigators that he was traversing Abad Santos Street when he was temporarily blinded by the headlights of a vehicle traveling on the opposite lane.

Because of this, he instinctively turned the steering wheel causing the truck to head straight to the center island.

The accident happened near Ospital ng Tondo and because the truck’s trailer almost toppled sideways, it took awhile before authorities were able to clear the road.

The truck’s cargo, which was mostly concrete posts, blocked a portion of the road after some of it got unloaded from the trailer.

Because of the accident, the southbound lane of the said street was temporarily closed to vehicular traffic.

The truck was on its way to a construction site in Pasay City when the accident happened.
