This was announced by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday afternoon.

The agency said the closure of Estrella Service Road will be from Gumamela Street to JP Rizal direction. Around 500 vehicles traverse the road from each direction per hour.

For those coming from EDSA/Rockwell, drivers must turn at Gumamela Street, left at Camia Street to JP Rizal, and to their destination, MMDA advised motorists.

Roads in the vicinity of the bridge will be cleared of obstructions in anticipation of the partial road closure.

The rehabilitation of Estrella-Pantaleon Bridge, which is being funded by China, will widen the major thoroughfare from two to four lanes.

The rehabilitation also aims to fortify the bridge so that it will be able to withstand earthquakes.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is eyeing to complete its construction in 2021.
