The "Walk for Life" activity of the Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas in Quezon City this Saturday is open to everyone even to those running in the May 13 midterm polls.
But Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo said no candidate will be allowed to deliver a speech.

“All are welcome but none of them will be given any time to speak,” he said in an interview.
The prelate, who is also the head of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines Episcopal Commission on Laity, stressed that the aim of the activity is really to show the people’s stance for life.
“It is a walk to show our stance on life and human rights,” said Pabillo.
“We also pray together for life. It is a sign of unity to stand up for life,” he added.
Earlier, the Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas said the Walk for Life activity is being held for the life of every person who has been a victim of the culture of death.
“This walk is for the life of every person who has been a victim of this culture of death. As Christians we stand together because we have the responsibility to care for our fellow human beings and to ensure that common good and justice must prevail,” the group said in a statement.
“We walk not only to condemn the wrong that is being done, but also to pray that the hearts of those who pursue such wrongs may be touched and softened by our collective action,” it further read.
“We walk to uphold the truth and righteousness and to proclaim that upholding the primacy of human life is a choice we must all make,” read the statement.
The Walk for Life in Manila will be held at 4 a.m. on February 16 at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City. There will be a simultaneous activity in Tarlac City, Dagupan City, Cebu, Palo, and in Mindanao.
