‘Bato’ to celebrate Valentine's Day with solo parents

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Solo parents – 1, 138 of them – in Bulacan will not celebrate Valentine’s Day solo because former PNP Chief Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa and 460 Child Development Workers will be with them for the “Pangkalahatang Pagtitipon ng Solo Parents sa Lalawigan ng Bulacan at Pamamahagi ng mga Instructional Material sa mga Child Development Worker.”

The event will be held early morning of February 14, at The Hiyas Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city.

With the theme “Sa Araw ng mga Puso, Di Ka Nagsosolo, Kasama mo si BATO,” the activity aims to pay tribute to solo parents who patiently and bravely exerted all their efforts to support their family.

According to Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado, it’s important to let the solo parents feel that they have a partner in providing for the needs of their families and that the Provincial Government of Bulacan supports their goals of giving their children a bright future.

“Ang ating mga solo parent ay para na ring mga bayani sapagkat kahit nag-iisa, patuloy nilang itinataguyod ang kanilang pamilya, patuloy na sinusuportahan at ipinagkakaloob sa kanilang mga anak ang mga pangangailangan ng mga ito at hindi sumusuko gaano man kahirap ang landas na kanilang dapat tahakin. Tunay na sila ay dapat nating pahalagahan at ipagmalaki,” Alvarado said.

Meanwhile, thousands of Bulakenyos will also gather on Feb. 14 at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium to participate and support the activity initiated by the provincial government dubbed as “KKK sa Barangay: Pananagutan ng Bulacan para sa Kalikasan.”

The activity aims to ensure a cleaner and greener environment and to show support to the “Save Manila Bay Project” of the national government.

“Bato” Dela Rosa and former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go are expected to grace the event as the guest of honor and speaker, respectively.

The attendees will be oriented on various topics through a Symposium on the Community Based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP), launching of the Barangay Seal of Good Local Governance and KKK sa Barangay: Pananagutan ng Barangay para sa Kalikasan Project.

Meanwhile, on February 16, 2019, all 569 barangays will be having a simultaneous clean-up operation to support to the nationwide campaign to protect the environment.

Recently, Bulacan participated in the launching of the “Battle for Manila Bay” simultaneously done in Rajah Sulayman, Manila; Obando, Bulacan; Guagua, Pampanga; Mariveles, Bataan; and Bacoor, Cavite. #MatalinongBoto2019
