The Chinese student who splashed taho at a police officer over the weekend is set to be transferred to the Mandaluyong City Jail following the issuance of her inquest-resolution, a police official said Tuesday.

“We will transfer Jaile Zhang from the custodial facility of the Mandaluyong City Police to the City Jail later today (Feb. 12) or tomorrow (Feb. 13),” Senior Supt. Moises Villaceran, Mandaluyong City Police chief, told the Manila Bulletin.

The Mandaluyong City Prosecutors’ Office on Tuesday recommended that Zhang, 23, be indicted with direct assault of an agent in authority under Article 148 of the Revised Penal Code.

Zhang, a fashion design student, was arrested when she splashed a cup of taho to PO1 William Cristobal after she was barred from entering Metro Rail Transit-3 Boni Station on Saturday.

Police said that Zhang got mad when she asked by the security guard to consume her drink before entering the station.

When she became unruly, the security guard called the attention of PO1 Cristobal where he explained to Zhang the “no-liquids” policy being implemented in all trains and stations, but to his surprise, Zhang splashed the taho at him, police said.

On Sunday, PO1 Cristobal filed a complaint against Zhang for Direct Assault, Disobedience to Person in Authority and Unjust Vexation.

However, the prosecutors said the Disobedience to Person of Authority and UnJust Vexation complaints against her were dismissed.
