Sports complex planned for Bohol

TAGBILARAN CITY - A sports complex is among the projects approved by the Provincial Development Council (PDC) to prime up Bohol not only as an eco-tourism destination but a sports tourism destination as well.

The council approved the sports complex during its executive council meeting on Wednesday. The idea of a sports facility has been in the pipeline for some time.

Provincial Administrator Alfonso Damalerio first broached it during the joint session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Tagbilaran. Last Wednesday, Damalerio backed the sports complex, saying it will fill the need of facilities for hosting big sporting events.

In 2018 Bohol hosted two major sports events – the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVRAA) and the Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) both held at the refurbished but aging Carlos P. Garcia Sports Complex.

Aside from the sports complex, other dream projects included the Dauis Coastal Panoramic Bypass Road and the Integrated Wastewater Treatment Sewage and Septage Treatment facility.
