Metro Manila roads to undergo repairs over the weekend

Seven sections of national roads in Metro Manila will undergo road repairs over the weekend, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said.

Concrete reblocking works will be undertaken on the northbound directions of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), fronting Philippine College of Surgeons to fronting Quezon City Academy, first lane from sidewalk; from Light Mall first lane to Jollibee Service Road, Mega Mall second lane; and at the southbound direction after Lagarian Creek to Ermin Garcia Street beside MRT line.

The southbound direction of Circumferential Road 5 (C-5) fronting SM Aura; and after Lanuza Avenue before Bagong Ilog Flyover will undergo road repair.

Meanwhile, the northbound directions of Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard from Ramon Magsaysay Bridge to Pureza Street, going to Quiapo; and Fairview Avenue from Atherton to Regalado Avenue North, second lane will also undergo improvement works.

According to the DPWH-National Capital Region Director Ador Canlas, the road repair activities will start at 11 p.m. Friday.

The affected road sections are expected to be opened by 5 a.m. of Monday, Canlas said.

The regional director also advised motorists to take possible alternate routes due to expected traffic slowdown in affected areas.
