2 killed in Bulacan anti-drug sweeps

SAN JOSE DEL MONTE CITY, Bulacan – Two men, including a notorious drug pusher were killed, while 10 others were arrested during a separate police anti-drug operations in this city recently.

Supt. Orlando Castil Jr., San Jose police chief, identified the slain suspects as Rommel Ferrer, included in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) and an alias Boboy.

Castil said an exchange of gunfire ensued after the suspects noticed the presence of the police officers. They drew and fired at the officer who returned fire, killing the suspects.

According to the intelligence report, Ferrer was a notorious drug dealer in Graceville and nearby villages.

Police said that last month, they conducted a buy-bust operation and were able to transact with Ferrer, but he was able to escape.

Recovered from the slain suspects were six plastic sachets of suspected shabu and two cal. 38 revolvers. Criminal charges are being prepared against the 10 arrested suspects.
