BALANGA CITY, Bataan-The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has received 143 consumer complaints and resolved by the DTI-Bataan last year.
This was disclosed during the recent Kapihan sa DTI-Bataan held at Crown Royale Hotel in Balanga City led by its director Nelin Cabahug.
DTI Consumer Protection Division chief Connie Sanico also said the DTI continuously urging consumers to visit their office to file official complaint against unscrupulous establishments or about defective products. DTI-Bataan is located at 3rd floor, Criselda Marie Building, Capitol Drive, Balanga City and can be reached via (047) 237 3005.
Meanwhile, the DTI launched last week "DTI Suking Tindahan" in Bataan and Pampanga.
No less than DTI provincial director Nelin O. Cabahug led the launching in Calaylayan, Abucay town and Binaritan, Morong town where the DTI personnel also awarded certificate of recognitions and Seal of DTI Suking tindahan to the recipients.
Mayors Liberato Santiago and Cynthia L Estanislao of Abucay and Morong towns, delivered their inspirational messages as they also thanked Cabahug for the projects.
In Pampanga, Calulut Convenience Store, was also becoming the first recipient in the province.
“We are awarding the Suking Tindahan Seal to major sari-sari stores selling at least 50 percent of basic commodities and 50 percent of prime commodities under our jurisdiction,” DTI OIC-Provincial Director Elenita R. Ordonio said.
To qualify, the price of the basic and prime commodities being monitored by DTI must be within or lower the Suggested Retail Prices.
“They must also protect the welfare of consumers and comply with Fair Trade Laws,” Ordonio added.
