2 druggies nabbed at Caloocan cemetery

Two alleged drug personalities were arrested at La Loma Catholic Cemetery at Caloocan City on Sunday before dawn.

Police identified the suspects as Anthony Dy, 27, tricycle driver; and Joey Canseco, 5-, helper; both residents of BMBA Compound in Caloocan.

The two are newly-identified drug personalities, which means that they were not included in the police’s or barangay’s drug watchlist, police said.

According to a report, police received a call from a concerned citizen informing them of an ongoing illegal gambling session at the cemetery.

Upon arrival, police arrested the two suspects while their cohorts fled the area.

Retrieved from the suspects were two sachets of suspected shabu and gambling paraphernalia.

The suspects will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

4 alleged drug peddlers nabbed in Taguig

Four alleged drug peddlers will be spending the holidays behind bars after they were nabbed by anti-drug operatives in a buy-bust operation in Taguig City Saturday night.
The five were identified by police as Juvylyn Ramirez, 38; Alex Abdul, 34; Justine Ramirez, 18 and Francis Palaya, 31. One of their cohorts only known as George, was able to escape.

Investigation showed that the operation was conducted by anti-narcotics operatives at around 8:55 p.m. at  DOTC compound, Magsaysay Street, Brgy New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.

During their arrest, police recovered a total of 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing approximately 15 grams.

The suspects will be brought to the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of the Taguig City Police and will be facing drug-related charges before the Taguig City Prosecutor's Office. (Dhel Nazario)

Senior HS student busted for weed

A senior high school student who allegedly supplies marijuana to college students was arrested after yielding 15 sachets of dried marijuana leaves in Makati City at dawn Sunday.

Chief Insp Gideon Ines Jr., Makati City Police assistant chief for operations identified the suspect as 19-year-old Cristobal Bautista, a resident of Barangay South Cembo, Makati.

Investigation showed that at around 4 a.m., Bautista figured in a commotion with someone along Col. Santos St. in Barangay South Cembo.

Police responded and pacified the situation.

"He had gone wild. He could have been high on illegal drugs at that time, "Ines said.

Upon frisking, 15 sachets of marijuana leaves were found inside his pouch.

"As per our sources, he sells marijuana to some college students here in Makati," Ines said.

Bautista is currently held at the Makati police headquarters, pending the filing of appropriate charges.

Meantime in Navotas City, police arrested Ronel Bane, 21; Rolando Diaz, 54; Allan Miranda, 46 and Dante Albetia, 29 for using shabu before dawn in at Barangay North Bay Boulevard North.

The Navotas City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and Intelligence Unit arrested the four suspects after they were caught in the middle of a drug-using session. (Jel Santos with a report from Minka Claudia Tiangco)
