After Pimentel, Legarda faces disqualification case before Comelec

It seems that not only Sen. Koko Pimentel who is facing a disqualification case at the Commission on Elections, but also Sen. Loren Legarda.

A disqualification case was filed against Legarda by former Antique governor Exequiel Javier and another from one Robin Rubinor.

Legarda is running for Representative of the lone district of Antique.

The disqualification case against Pimentel was filed by lawyer Ferdinand Topacio.

Based on the records of the Comelec - clerk of the Commission, the petitions versus Pimentel and Legarda were among the 68 cases filed before the poll body.

Also facing a disqualification case is Cebu Third District Rep. Gwendolyn Garcia, who is seeking a gubernatorial post. She is facing two disqualification cases--the one filed by Edgar Gica and Norma Pilapil Pozon.

Former senator Mar Roxas of the Liberal Party (LP), meantime, filed a petition to disqualify fellow senatorial bet, Lemicio Jesus Roxas of the Katipunan ng Demokratikong Pilipino (KDP). Roxas is running for senator next year.

Other known personalities who filed disqualification cases at the poll body are as follow:

Former Manila vice mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domogoso filed a disqualification case against fellow Manila mayoral aspirant Onofre Estrada Abad.

Reelectionist Marikina Mayor Marcelino Teodoro filed disqualification cases against Marjoy Villoso and Lorderito Nebres.

Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan filed separate petitions against fellow mayoral aspirants Rufino Bayon-on, Maximo Tonelino, Edgardo Sevilla, Ronnie Malunes, and Emil Trinidad.

Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla filed two disqualification cases against Tranquilino Estrada and Emelita Machado Villar.
