The son publicly disclosed the sickness of the father last July.

“I made a promise to my sister that I would not take this to social media, but I believe that my Dad’s friends and former colleagues deserves to know,” he started his post back then.

He wrote that Mike was diagnosed with colon cancer and “needs operation to remove the tumor.”

However, Joachim noted he’s not sharing his father’s condition because he wants to solicit money. Rather, he wants his dad’s friends to visit him and put a smile on his face.

“He misses the old days and always talks about it. I am appealing to his friends that if it’s not too much to ask to spare some time for my Dad,” he told his friends online
